15 Money Saving Apps for Christmas Shopping

15 Money Saving Apps for Christmas Shopping There’s no doubt that Santa has made his list and he’s in the process of checking it twice for this Christmas, but how far have you actually gotten in buying all those gifts for friends, coworkers and loved ones?

Check out these free apps to get the best deals this Christmas and even put a little money back in your wallet.

EbatesEbates pays you cash back at more than 2,000 stores. They also include many store coupons and offers so that you can stack your savings. They have a great website with many of the offers and deals there, an app that you can use in-store and a cash back browser extension that will remind you of cash back offers when you are purchasing from a participating online retailer. This is one of my favorite sites. Sign up today and earn $10 after your first purchase! (Read my review of Ebates here.)

Amazon Prime – Amazon Prime is Amazon’s subscription service that it no less than awesome! You sign up for the service which runs around $100 per year. With it, you get free shipping, guaranteed 2 day arrival on most items, access to free movies and TV shows, free AmazonMusic, and so much more. The free shipping during Christmas season makes the subscription a steal. Oh and did I mention you can sign up for a FREE 30 day trial! Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial.

ShopSavvyShopSavvy allows you to scan a barcode of an item and get promotions and prices of that item from retailers locally, so that you can find the best price. You can also price compare with thousands on online retailers as well.

Shopkick – How would you like to earn rewards just by walking into the door at one of your favorite retailers? Shopkick pays you in “kicks” which are reward points just for visiting retailers within its network. You can also earn kicks for making purchases and for scanning the barcodes on certain items in the store. You can cash your kicks in for gift cards for your favorite stores.   (Read my review of Shopkick here.)

MyPointsMyPoints works similarly to Ebates. You can shop online at the more than 2,000 stores in the network and earn points, which you can later cash in for gift cards or a cash payout using Paypal. I prefer to use the website, rather than the app, because it is simpler and there are a lot more features. You can also earn points through completing surveys, by reading email promotions and completing daily polls. (Read my review of MyPoints here.)

OfferUp – The OfferUp app allows you to buy and sell items locally. You can list items using your mobile phone. You know who you are buying from and selling to through reputation and safety features offered through the app. You can also communicate with buyers/sellers securely using the app.

RetailMeNotRetailMeNot has all the coupons, coupon codes, cash back offers, free shipping offers and more for all your favorite retailers in one place. So before you shop online or in-store check out the app or webpage for the best deals! You can also sign up for their emails to get deals delivered to your inbox.

Walmart Savings CatcherWalmart’s Savings Catcher app allows you to scan your Walmart recipet and the app will search all the national retailers in your area for cheaper prices on the items you just purchased. If you paid more at Walmart then the app will refund you the difference, which you can cash out on a gift card. I love this app!

ReceiptPalReceiptPal rewards you for taking photos of your receipts with their app. They use the information in market research and reward you 25 points for every receipt. You can also email them receipts from online purchases you’ve made as well. You can cash out your points for gift cards to use at your favorite stores.

QMee RewardsQMee Rewards has a web browser extension and an app. I prefer the web browser extension. Once you install the web browser extension, QMee pays you for clicking on ads when you are surfing the internet. It seems to work best when you are browsing on popular retail sites (like Amazon), but I’ve also been rewarded when I’ve searched for financial and travel related info as well. You can cash out immediately. There is no minimum.
